St Croix Valley SC folds, will not participate in the WPASL for 2021

The Wisconsin Primary Amateur Soccer League (WPASL) is saddened to release that St Croix Valley Soccer Club, a founding member of the league, will cease operations immediately.

“St Croix Valley SC regrets to release that the club will fold prior the the beginning of the 2021 season. Due to inadequate player response and financial gain, we will cease operations immediately. Thank you to all who supported our club over the past three years. The future is bright for the youth clubs in our area, and we hope that one day new interest in high-level adult soccer will form in the St Croix Valley area.” – St Croix Valley SC

St Croix Valley SC was founded in 2018 by Matthew Brice. The Saints finished 3rd in the inaugural season of the WPASL, and finished 6th in last year’s table. The club was based out of St. Croix Falls, WI and pulled high-level talent from St. Croix Falls, Amery, Osceola, Balsam Lake, Lindstrom, and Chisago Lakes.

The WPASL will continue with a seven (7) team league for the 2021 season. League format will remain consistent and all teams will be scheduled for doubleheaders against division opponents to maintain ten (10) regular season league games, before a champion is declared following the WPASL Championship Game on August 1st.
