FC Midnimo joins the WPASL

The Wisconsin Primary Amateur Soccer League (WPASL) is proud to announce that FC Midnimo will be joining the league for the 2020 season.

“We’re happy to be in the WPASL for this upcoming season. It gives us a chance to play competitive soccer and we look forward to cross-town rivalries with Barron”

FC Midnimo was founded in 2019. After Inter Wisconsin FC folded at the closure of the 2019 sesaon, FC Midnimo was founded by some of the remaining players looking to stay in the league. Filled out by Barron’s large Somalian-American population, FC Midnimo will look to be competitive in the league.

Home games for FC Midnimo will be played at the Birch Street Soccer Field in Barron, WI. FC Midnimo are managed by Mohamed Yare.

Duluth FC Academy joins the WPASL

The Wisconsin Primary Amateur Soccer League (WPASL) is proud to announce that Duluth FC Academy will be joining the league for the 2020 season.

“We evaluated joining a few different leagues, but the WPASL gave us the opportunity to play competitively in a well-run league with local travel. We’re excited to play for a trophy and develop local talent”

Duluth FC Academy was founded in 2018. After founding a U23 academy team playing friendlies under the same name for the last two years, the Bluegreens joined the WPASL looking to field a team of local youth talent. Academy players will be groomed to fill out the first team in future years. Duluth FC, the academy’s parent club, compete in the NPSL.

Home games for Duluth FC Academy will be played at Proctor High School (Egerdahl Field) in Proctor, MN. The Bluegreens are managed by Mark Magnuson.

Eau Claire Bateaux returns to the WPASL

The Wisconsin Primary Amateur Soccer League (WPASL) is proud to announce that Eau Claire Bateaux will be returning to the league for the 2020 season.

“We’ve rebranded and we’re ready to take the title this year. After finishing first in the standings and not getting the cup, we’ve upgraded the roster and are ready to win it all”

Eau Claire Bateaux was founded in 2010. The team is a combination of two 7v7 clubs (EC Boys and EC Heat) who have won the Eau Claire Rec league for 6 years running. Competing as Eau Claire Heat last year, they finished 1st place in the standings before falling to Barron Soccer Team in the Championship match.

Home games for Eau Claire Bateaux will be played at the Bollinger Fields and Eau Claire Soccer Park in Eau Claire, WI. EC Bateaux are managed by David Ripplinger and Larry Mboga.

Hayward United SC returns to the WPASL

The Wisconsin Primary Amateur Soccer League (WPASL) is proud to announce that Hayward United SC will be returning to the league for the 2020 season.

“The Pack is ready for a new season in the WPASL. We finished a little lower than we had hoped, but we look to bring a deeper roster and will fight to get success in this always competitive league”

Hayward United SC was founded in 2016. After playing local friendlies under the name Hayward Scorpions, the team joined with local youth club Hayward United. The Wolfpack played their 2018 season in the DASL, finishing 6th, before joining the WPASL for their inaugural season. The Wolfpack finished 4th place in the league standings, and lost both playoff games to confirm their 4th place spot.

Home games for Hayward United SC will be played at the Hayward Intermediate School Field in Hayward, WI. The Wolfpack are managed by Kaden Bergman.

Saint Croix Valley returns to the WPASL

The Wisconsin Primary Amateur Soccer League (WPASL) is proud to announce that Saint Croix Valley SC will be returning to the league for the 2020 season.

“We’re pumped to be back in the WPASL after a great first season. We will return much of the same roster and will look to be competitive in an upgraded league for 2020”

Saint Croix Valley SC was founded in 2019. Founded to compete in the first season of WPASL play, the Saints pulled players from a large area in Western Wisconsin, including St Croix Falls, Amery, Chisago Lakes and Osceola. SCV finished 2nd place in the league standings, but fell to Barron in the semi-finals, before defeating Hayward for the 3rd place trophy.

Home games for Saint Croix Valley will be played at the Saint Croix High School Field in St Croix Falls, WI. The Saint are managed by Matthew Brice.

Barron Socccer Team Returns to the WPASL

The Wisconsin Primary Amateur Soccer League (WPASL) is proud to announce that Barron Soccer Team will be returning to the league for the 2020 season.

“We’re very excited to be returning to the WPASL after a great season last year. We’ve added a star to our updated logo and we hope to add another after the 2020 season”

Barron Soccer Team was founded in 2017. After winning the RLASL rec league championship, they made the jump up to the WPASL in its inaugural season. The Bears finished 3rd place in the standings, but went undefeated in the playoffs to capture the 2019 WPASL Primary Cup.

Home games for Barron Soccer Team will be played at the Birch Street Soccer Field in Barron, WI. The Bears are managed by Liban Ismael.

Congratulations to Barron Soccer Team, who beat Eau Claire Heat FC by a score of 4-0 to capture the inaugural 2019 WPASL Primary Cup.
